On Tuesday the memorial Hall hosted a two hander about a young clown befriended by a farmer. A story for both young and old it was hosted by Wyldwood arts who have previously run children’s holiday events at the Hall and the highly successful “Passing the baton” a story telling the history of Lydbrook band and featuring them!
We hope to be hosting more events at the Hall as we come further out of Covid.
Please note that due to the re-surfacing work being carried out by Highways from today some of the residents from Hangerberry road are using the car park for their vehicles until the work is completed. This means that there is a higher volume of vehicles on the car park so everyone needs to show extra care and attention with regard to parking until the work is completed.
Well, the AGM has come and gone and like last year it was very poorly supported by the local community. We were able to elect a committee to keep the charity operational and we hope things will improve as life gets back to normal post Covid-19.
If you have ideas to help us, events you would like to run or see runs by the committee then get in contact with us. You are welcome to come to the monthly meeting with your ideas.
Next trustee meeting will be held on Tuesday July 5th from 7pm at the Lydbrook Memorial Hall. Minutes from the last committee meeting will be published on our website shortly.
The charity has planted fifteen new trees on the bank sides of the recreation ground as part of the wider initiative in Gloucestershire to plant more trees. There are rowan and crab apple trees which will be nurtured and grow over the next few years.
Although the date is yet to be confirmed Lydbrook Training Band and other local musical groups will be performing at the Hall in October 2022 to raise funds for the up keep of the Hall and the recreation ground. Come along and enjoy the music and help support your local community charity.
Coming soon – you will be able to help raise funds for the Memorial Hall and give yourself a chance of winning prizes by becoming a supporter through the Forest of Dean lottery. Tell your friends and family and get involved!
We are registered with an organisation that creates funds for charities using very easy steps. EasyFundRaising.org is a site that allows online shoppers to nominate a charity. The site from which purchases are made then makes a small donation each time the link is used, at no cost to the shopper. You need to visit the site, register using our link as the charity, and then install the ‘reminder’ button on your usual Search Engine page (Google, Yahoo, etc). The link you need is here: https://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/lmhg/
Once installed, you use the button to enter whatever shopping site you want to shop with and we’ll receive the donations from the shops you use. Thank you.
