New Hall lighting
With energy costs apparently spiralling out of control in the UK the committee approved spending money to replace the power hungry fluorescent tube lights in the Hall with higher energy efficient LED lights. We hope this will reduce our current electricity costs by more than 60%.
Kitchen renovation
We have been awarded some grant funding to help with a planned kitchen upgrade that will replace appliances and bring it up-to standard to allow it to be better utilised by the community. We have the new appliances and hope to start work on upgrading the kitchen very soon, watch this space for further information.
2022 AGM
Well, the AGM has come and gone and like last year it was very poorly supported by the local community. We were able to elect a committee to keep the charity operational and we hope things will improve as life gets back to normal post Covid-19.
If you have ideas to help us, events you would like to run or see runs by the committee then get in contact with us. You are welcome to come to the monthly meeting with your ideas.
Next trustee meeting will be held on Tuesday July 5th from 7pm at the Lydbrook Memorial Hall. Minutes from the last committee meeting will be published on our website shortly.
New trees on the Lydbrook Recreation ground
The charity has planted fifteen new trees on the bank sides of the recreation ground as part of the wider initiative in Gloucestershire to plant more trees. There are rowan and crab apple trees which will be nurtured and grow over the next few years.
A musical afternoon at Lydbrook Memorial Hall
October 1st is now confirmed for a concert by the Lydbrook Training Band. More local musical groups will be performing at the Hall over the coming months to raise funds for the up-keep of the Hall and the recreation ground. Come along and enjoy the music and help support your local community charity.
